Vickroy's was established in 1956 by Clarence Vickroy.  He and wife Marietta moved to Monmouth to open Vickroy's Furniture from Geneseo, Il. Clarence had worked at Klavohn Furniture in Geneseo for several years before deciding to settle in Monmouth and establish his own furniture store.  Clarence and Marietta had 3 Children at the time Debbie, Randy, and Rick.  After arriving in Monmouth 2 more children joined the family, Dawn and Rod making 5 children.
Clarence passed away in 2007 after 51 years at the helm.  His wife Marietta survives and is semi-retired and has turned the store operations over to son Richard Vickroy and daughter Dawn Schisler.
Vickroy's has never changed from it's philosophy of quality furniture at small town prices.  Vickroy's still maintains free delivery and hometown service. Vickroy's carries many of the most popular furniture brands in the US.
